World Chimpanzee Day 2020

World Chimpanzee Day 2020

Please join us in celebrating our closest living relatives on World Chimpanzee Day this Tuesday 14th July 2020!

Together with our friends and colleagues at the Exeter Centre for Ecology & Conservation (Exeter University) and the Bulindi Chimpanzee and Community Project we made a series of videos to highlight interesting facts about chimpanzees, their behaviour, research techniques to study them, the important work of local assistants, and what we can do to protect them! The videos will be released throughout the day on Tuesday 14th July, between 9am and 4pm BST. You can view the videos through our World Chimpanzee Day Facebook page or watch directly through the World Chimpanzee Day 14 July 2020 playlist on our Primate Models for Behavioural Evolution Lab YouTube channel.

This will be followed by a Live Q&A Webinar on Friday 17th July at 4pm BST where our team of scientists will answer your questions about all things chimpanzee! What do they eat? How do they live? How does a baby chimpanzee learn to survive? How can we find a way to co-exist with these fascinating animals? Come and ask everything you and your children always wanted to know about chimpanzees! YouTube Live link: https://youtu.be/9HnzAksgYY0
