World Chimpanzee Day 2021

We celebrated our closest living relatives this World Chimpanzee Day, 14th July 2021! To mark the occasion, we at the Primate Models for Behavioural Evolution Lab ran two events: an Up-Goer Five Challenge and a Chimpanzee Anecdotes event!

World Chimpanzee Day 14 July 2021 - Up-Goer Five Challenge (share your chimpanzee research using only the 1000 most commonly used words) and Chimpanzee Anecdotes (share your funniest or most interesting stories from working with chimpanzees)!
  • Up-Goer Five Challenge - Can you talk about your chimpanzee research using only the 1000 most commonly used words in English? Have a go, and submit a maximum 5 minute video of the result for us to upload onto our YouTube Channel! Alternatively, you can submit text for us to make a Twitter thread relating to your research (further instruction will be provided).
  • Chimpanzee Anecdotes - We would love to hear your funniest and most interesting anecdotes from working with chimpanzees! These can be from video footage, working in zoos or sanctuaries, or from the field - we want to hear them all! Again, submit either a short video or text for Twitter, so we can share how much fun it is to work with chimpanzees.
