Alejandra Pascual-Garrido: "Scars are just another kind of memory: Deciphering how wild chimpanzees select tool raw materials"

Alejandra Pascual-Garrido is an Argentinean-Spanish primatologist, and conservationist with expertise in the behaviour and ecology of monkeys and apens. Dr Pascual-Garrido completed a Leverhulme Early Career Fellowship, following on from a postdoctoral position in Primate Archaeology at Oxford University. Extensive field research on wild non-human primates (chimpanzee, baboon, macaque, capuchin, tamarin) has taken her to West and East Africa, Southeast Asia and South America. Her current research focusses on the archaeological signatures left by wild chimpanzees as a result of their use of plant technology for tool-aided insectivory.
